■ This is a U.S. Navy officer's double-breasted jacket sewn by a tailor in Chicago in the 1940s.
It is presumed that the gold buttons on the front were replaced with black resin buttons around the time of the Korean War in the 1950s.
The rank insignia on the sleeves is a lieutenant with a double line on the bullion star.
