This model PPG-B300 generator dynamo is a belt / pulley driven unit which generates a DC Voltage that is directly proportional to the revolutions per minute rate that you spin the shaft at. For instance the following table shows you the generator output based on revolutions per minute: Generator rotational speed DC Voltage Output 500 RPM 3.6V DC Output 750 RPM 4.9V DC Output 1000 RPM 6.0V DC Output 1500 RPM 9.5V DC Output 2000 RPM 12.2 DC Output 2500 RPM 14.5 DC Output 3000 RPM 17.0 DC Output This generator can charge a 12V battery through a blocking diode and a fuse. Or it can charge a battery through a charge controller which has a built in fuse and blocking diode. The PPG-B300 is easiest to install by screwing it down to a piece of plywood and then setting a bike stand on the same piece of plywood. See product photo. You will have to remove the tire from the rear wheel of a bicycle. After the generator is secured atop the piece of plywood then you can use an adjustable powertwist size 3L V-belt to connect the generator to the rear wheel of the bicycle.
