This striking carved-wood puppet stands approximately 11.5″ tall and features richly painted detail: a warrior/guard figure with a curved scimitar sword and round shield in hand. The face is hand-painted with a mustache, and the figure wears a traditional-style headpiece and costume-style hand sewn fabric clothing. The piece appears to be vintage folk art, likely of Indian origin. Some of the cloth is faded with age, some small paint chips and only 2 of his strings are left.
