Description:
An antique polished brass candle reflector in the novelty form of a tilt top games table, complete with checkerboard design.
Polished metal candle reflectors were used to maximise the limited light provided by a candle. This style was easily portable so could be placed behind any candle.

Age / date of manufacture:
c1860.
Size:
Measures 6" (15.2 cm) tall when the table top is vertical, is 4" (10.2 cm) in diameter across the table top and 3" (7.6 cm).
Condition:
In good used antique condition. Has cracking to the black decoration on the checkerboard and has all over surface scuff marks and tarnish from use. I have not polished this piece as I prefer the original aged patina.
