CONTAX Carl Zeiss Tessar 45mm/f2.8
This is a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens from the now-defunct Kyocera Contax. It is considered a "pancake lens", I suppose. Originally, it was purchased in pretty good condition (as explained) at a camera shop in Shinbashi, which is now gone, to use with the Contax Aria. When mounted on the Aria, it truly shines as a pancake lens, being small and visually beautiful. While the Planar lens is popular, in terms of appearance, this one was definitely the winner. In short, I bought this lens based on its appearance.
I used it extensively on the Aria until it got worn out and had to let it go, so I tried using this lens on a digital camera with a mount adapter, but it didn't look quite right, so I decided to part with it. However, being a Zeiss Tessar lens, the image quality is excellent, no complaints there. It's small and thin, so it fits nicely in a bag. More than the lens itself, I think the Contax genuine lens filter is even rarer. It looks pretty cool.
I'm not well-versed in the optical details, so if you are curious, please refrain from asking. The focusing ring feels a bit loose, but I don't know the exact reason for that.
