Beautiful early David Frykman Santa figurine, marked with the impressed CYO signature used on Frykman’s work around 1990. This tall, narrow Santa is crafted from ceramic with a hand-painted finish and features a deep red robe, gold Greek key trim, ornate carved beard, and a gold lantern.
This is an early Frykman piece from before his partnership with Department 56, when his Santas were sculpted in smaller batches and made with more rustic, artisanal detail. The figure has a ceramic feel with the characteristic matte texture and carved surface typical of his early work.
No chips or cracks. Light surface wear consistent with age.
