In recent years, the outdoor wear and active insulation categories have rapidly expanded. Primarily, overseas brands have been leading the way in product development. Among the active insulation materials, TEIJIN Octa® CPCP® stands out, known for its lightweight properties and high heat retention.
STATIC chose to use Octa® CPCP®, typically used as a lining material in insulated products, as a single-layer fabric. The brand, which develops its products in high-altitude, dry climates, often combines Octa® CPCP® with a nylon shell material, resulting in a heavier garment. Considering the need for easy layering in Japan, where these items are often carried as insulation, this approach was deemed less suitable.
Due to its special mesh structure, it is significantly lighter than the generally thin 300g fleece and offers exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio, making it highly portable and suitable for all seasons.
