Stunning vintage Couroc of Monterey large rectangular serving tray featuring a red cardinal and dogwood floral design. These were popular mid-century modern pieces made by Couroc in the 1950s thru 1980s. In excellent pre-owned condition. Measures 18 inches long.
The cardinal and dogwood pattern was crafted using a hand-inlaid technique, incorporating various materials like shells, wood, and metals. The tray itself was made from a proprietary black phenolic resin developed by Couroc's founder, Guthrie Courvoisier, that is impervious to alcohol, boiling water, acids, and cigarette burns.
