This 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" electric brake assembly is designed for 9,000 to 10,000 lb. axles with a 7-bolt flange pattern. It features a yellow-wired brake magnet. Like hydraulic drum brakes, electric brakes use an electromagnet within the brake drum. When voltage is applied, the magnet attracts the drum's armature surface, causing brake shoes to expand against the drum. The braking force is adjusted by varying the voltage supplied to the magnets.
