The EthernetConnect EC-3004CLPOE-W 4-Port Ethernet over Coaxial Extender Local Unit from Pelco extends up to 4 channels of 10/100 Mbps Ethernet with PoE+ power injection and pass-through PoE+ over coaxial cable, when used with the EC-3000C Series remote unit. It is suitable for applications where the existing coaxial cable needs to be leveraged for transmission of IP signals.
The Ethernet extender can become a true PoE source for powered devices in configurations that have a single cable connected to the camera. This eliminates the need for midspans or PoE-enabled Ethernet switches to provide a fully 802.3at compatible solution. With the ability to connect directly to a PoE+ switch or provide PoE+ power with a 48V input to the powered device (via the remote unit), the local unit provides flexibility for extending a powered device (PD) over long-distance copper without any programming required.
