The newest in the Pepetools line of Disc Cutting is the Oval Cabochon Disc Cutter designed with the jeweler and hobbyists in mind. These are designed to cut oval discs, washers, cabochons from thin sheet metals such as silver, gold, brass, copper, aluminum and similar alloys. Annealing the sheet-metal may make it easier to punch/cut using your brass mallet. There are six sizes of ovals/cabochons you can punch out: (in millimeters): 30x22, 25x18, 24x14, 20x15, 20x12, 18x13 Each Die/Punch is first precision turned on a "state of the art" CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machine base in Pepetools Oklahoma City factory. The punches/Dies are heat-treated to a 48-52 HRC (Rockwell Hardness). This hardness insures a lifetime of use and a sharp edge. To obtain the cleanest cut possible, Pepetools includes a 5 degree angle on the cutting edge allowing a beautiful shearing action. After machining, the dies/punches are finished in black oxide, a heavy duty protective coating against corrosion. Pepetools angled dies/punches shear cleanly through the metal, creating an oval blank without burs or raised edges instead of tearing through the material like your "traditional" disc cutter. NOTE: Brass hammer and brass oval blank are used only as a display and are not included.
