The PFERD POLICAP® Seamless Abrasive Cap – Part 46080 is engineered for precision fine grinding and surface finishing in demanding applications. Measuring 5/8" x 1" and manufactured in Shape G (tapered conical with 30° taper angle and radius end), this abrasive cap allows controlled grinding in contours, edges, and detailed work areas. Its seamless construction enables use of the entire abrasive surface, delivering consistent wear and smooth grinding performance. The 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive provides reliable material removal for leveling and step-by-step fine grinding on a wide range of steels. Designed for universal use on cast steel, stainless steel (INOX), hardened and heat-treated steels (>370 HV / 38 HRC), and steels up to 370 HV, this cap is especially suited for tool and die-making, repair, and fabrication. It also performs effectively on plastics, wood, and fillers in model crafting applications. During operation, the cap expands to fit securely on the holder for stable grinding. Product changes are quick and easy—simply twist clockwise and pull off while leaving the holder clamped in the power tool. For best results, operate at a recommended peripheral speed of 2,000–4,000 SFPM. Do not exceed the maximum permitted speed of 5,500 SFPM.
