This incredible work of art changes color simply by changing the direction of the plate. It catches the light in a beautiful way and is extremely iridescent. When you walk past it, you see multiple versions of the color scheme because of the way the light moves across the butterfly wings & plate. Behind the plate is a metal protective layer.
In good vintage condition. Some minor scuffs, discoloration to the middle backing can be found There seems to be something inbetween the metal layer and the plate causing smudges to show through. I would assume the plate should be removed from the metal and cleaned. I am hesitant to take that step because I do not want to damage the plate. As a result, this plate is sold "as is", and the future owner will likely want to clean the underside of the plate for a more flawless look. Likely made in Brazil.
