Vintage 1930s U.S. Glass Co. "Handy Andy" Green Uranium Juicer - Measures 2 Cups.
This is a beautiful and highly collectible vintage "Handy Andy" juicer set, manufactured by the United States Glass Company during the Depression era. This two-piece set includes a measuring cup and a removable citrus reamer.
This juicer is a prime example of green uranium glass, also known as Vaseline glass. The presence of a small amount of uranium oxide in the glass gives it its characteristic pale green color and, more notably, causes it to fluoresce a brilliant, electric green under a UV or blacklight. I have included multiple photos to demonstrate this fascinating glow.
The set is in very good vintage condition, with no major chips or cracks. There is some minor flea-biting on the outer rim of the reamer from normal use over the decades, which is common for a piece of this age. Please examine all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
