This Duffel Bag is a True Hippie Era (1970’s) item, I can tell you I felt I love with this style of craftsmanship as a young girl and to this day it hasn’t disappoint me.
This type of Artisanal Ethnic Craft is original mainly from Guatemala yet at its core is made by Mayan Women who also live in Belize and the South of Mexico so I think it is fair to say I want to credit the Mayan women
What it is truly peculiar is that this type of bags are a quilted patchwork mixing Denim and Recycled Textiles way before RECYCLING was a “thing” mind you this is the 70’s Now this alone by itself is gorgeous BUT this is not the end of it and for those who are not familiar with the Weaving Mayan Tradition the textiles where originally handwoven and were made into clothing so this is a tapestry too
