How to Apply Worm Tea Worm Empire worm tea concentrate should be diluted with water before use. Mix 1 part worm tea with 10 parts water for most plants. For delicate seedlings, use a 20:1 ratio (5% worm tea); for established plants or poor soil, use a 5:1 ratio (20% worm tea). Either pre-mix the worm tea in your watering can or sprayer, or apply the diluted tea evenly following your regular watering routine. Handling and Storage When first opened, worm tea will initially have an odor similar to eggs. Do not fear! This is normal and indicative of healthy tea, as it is due to the microbes undergoing anaerobic processes while the bottle is sealed. When the tea is used, it will aerate, and the smell will dissipate due to fresh air entering the bottle. Once diluted in water the smell is not noticeable. Store in a cool, dark place. Worm tea will last for 6+ months with proper storage.
